Profile

Following a decade in the defence sector Colin joined the Physics Department of the University of Portsmouth in 1986, primarily teaching microwave engineering and computer modelling. In 2000, he transferred to the Sports Science Department where he continued his interests in computer modelling, applying his models to biomechanical body movements and, more recently, the motion of sporting projectiles such as javelins and cricket balls. His book 'Projectile Dynamics in Sport - Principles and Applications' is published by Routledge, Taylor and Francis.
 
In 2010, Colin rejoined the Physics team at Portsmouth and will be teaching at all three levels, units such as; computer modelling, em waves and optic theory and laboratory practice.
