Profile
General Information
My current research focuses on the chemistry of accessory minerals in granitoids from different orogens to trace chemical systematics and use them to understand their petrogenesis, and in turn as tracers of tectonic environment of ancient granitoids (in collaboration with Craig Storey and Mike Fowler). As a metamorphic petrologist, I am also interested in the study of high grade rocks (migmatites, blueschists and eclogites).
Teaching
I assist with the 1st year metamorphic petrology practicals.
Career
2011-present Postdoc in the crustal evolution group at SEES in Portsmouth (UK)
2007-2011 PhD student in metamorphic petrology at the Department of Earth Sciences in Graz (Austria). PhD subject: “A petrological study of the Chugach Metamorphic Complex in southern Alaska” FWF project 19366-N10
Supervisor: ao. Prof. Kurt Stüwe.
2005-2007 Master degree research “Magmas and Volcanoes” in Clermont-Ferrand (France).
2002-2005 Degree of Earth Sciences in Besancon (France).
Research
Study of accessory minerals as tracers for granite petrogenesis and crustal evolution.
Evolution of the continental crust, style and rate of plate movement and subduction through geological time: Archaean vs modern plate tectonics.
Geodynamic evolution and metamorphic petrology of high grade rocks in the context of mountain belt evolution.
Thermobarometry and modelling of pseudosections (phase diagrams) of metamorphic rocks.
Funding Awards
2010: Funding obtained by CEPSAR for the project: “Dating amphibolites from the Chugach metamorphic complex” in collaboration with P. Bonnand and I. Parkinson (The Open University, UK).
2010: Funding obtained by the Marie-Curie Actions for the participation at the EURISPET Padova (European Intensive Seminars of Petrology) “High-temperature metamorphism and crustal melting”.
2009: Funding obtained by the doctoral School of earth-sciences (Karl-Franzens University, Austria) for the project: “Application of the RSCM thermometer method on CMC metasediments” in collaboration with O. Beyssac (ENS Paris).
