HCPC approved courses

Many of our courses are training the future professional work force for both health and social care.  As well as fulfilling the requirements for your profession that will allow you to apply for registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) our courses also include elements to support your employability including:

  • Application and interview preparation;
  • Additional learning opportunities such as being able to access NHS IT Skills;
  • Access to an e-portfolio that you can build during your course and take the contents with you when you leave.

The University also provides careers advisors to help you will all elements of applying for a job as well as access to graduate recruitment fairs.

Other courses

Careers advice is a key part of all of our courses and details of the types of employment that our graduates may be able to access can be found via our course information pages. For example the BSc (Hons) Human Physiology might lead to a career in clinical science, technology development, medical sales, research science, journalism, education, health promotion, public health, clinical research, life and physiological sciences or other health professions. FdSc Speech, Language and Communication Science graduates are ideally placed to work in a range of support roles in both health and social care.

The university Careers Advisers are available to help you with all elements of career planning including searching for job vacancies, work experience and volunteering opportunities.  

Further Study

Some of our students will at some point in their career choose to undertake further study.  The School of Health Sciences and Social Care offers a range of postgraduate opportunities.
