Daisy Payne, a graduate of the BSc (Hons) Social Work course at the University of Portsmouth has been accepted on a Law Conversion course.
Daisy said, "My desire to study law was firmly rooted from my degree in Social Work BSc (Hons). Law and the legal framework was a unit within my second year of my degree from which my interest in the study and practice of law was born. The social work degree has taught me a lot about myself and has contributed hugely to my emerging professional identity. I have been accepted onto a law conversion course in Brighton and intend to complete a one year Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL). I then intend on completing the BPTC in which I will be called to the BAR of England and Wales to undertake a year’s Pupillage before going into full time employment. I hope that these courses will build upon my current knowledge of law and identify how Law is shaped through a range of influences, including political change and the impacts on society. I am hopeful that through commitment, willingness, exploration, practice and passion I will achieve my ultimate goal as a practicing Barrister in England and Wales."
