Profile
Background
After graduating with a BSc (Hons) Microbiology from the University of London, Sally went on to complete a PhD investigating the allergic response of children with cystic fibrosis to Aspergillus, at the National Heart and Lung Institute, London. She continued a research career at University of Southampton and the Royal Veterinary College, London.
Teaching Responsibilities
Deputy Course Leader for the Professional Doctorate in Health and Social Care and teaching quantitative research methods and the principles of evidence-based practice at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Sally led the MSc Health Research and Development 2000-2008.
Research Interests
Inflammatory and respiratory disease, including modelling for predictors of disease exacerbations in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, food allergy, allergy to inhalants, treatments for cellulitis.
Screening and diagnostic research, Sally supervises a number of research students evaluating services, training for and effectiveness of diagnostic and screening tools.
