Profile
Background
After graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Psychology from the University of Crete in Greece, I came to the UK to gain my Master’s in Health Psychology from Sussex University in 2002. Since then I have worked in the NHS initially as a support worker and later as an assistant psychologist in Brighton and Portsmouth. Returning to Greece in 2006 I worked for a year as a Project Coordinator in a therapeutic centre, KETHEA, in Athens, implementing European educational projects for ex-drug addicts.
Research interests
I joined SHSSW as a Research Associate in May 2010, initially working on the PEOPPLE Project, and later on the HIP-HOP study. I am currently a PhD student working under the supervision of Dr Amy Drahota and Dr Rebecca Stores. I have been awarded a studentship to work with informal carers and investigate whether environmental interventions can be effective in caring for people with dementia at home.
