Profile

University College London – MSc Medical Radiation Physics
University of Hertfordshire – Bsc (Hons) Therapeutic Radiography

I qualified as a Therapeutic Radiographer in 1995 and in 1997 started working in Medical Physics specialising in Radiotherapy planning. I then spent the next 7 years working in a number of radiotherapy physics departments including the Royal Marsden Hospital and Harley Street Cancer Centre while continued my studies to become qualified as a medical physicist.

I am now registered as both a Clinical Scientist and Therapeutic Radiographer with the Health Professions Council. Most of my experience and research has been in the implementation and treatment of cancer using complex techniques such as conformal radiotherapy and intensity modulated radiation therapy and I have been involved in a number of clinical trials including the breast dosimetry trial looking at improving dose distributions for breast radiotherapy.

For a couple of years I have lectured as an external lecturer at the University of Portsmouth and started as a full time lecturer in Feb 2005. My specialised teaching areas are Radiation Physics and Radiotherapy planning.
