Profile
Joined the School in March 2008 as a Senior Lecturer in Social Work, prior to which I was a Senior Practitioner for Portsmouth City Council in the long term Children & Families Team, with six years experience in statutory Social Work.
I served 24 years in the Royal Navy, the first 10 years as a paramedic seconded to the Marines and the last 14 years as a member of the Naval Personnel & Family Services. I qualified as a Social Worker in 1998 at the University of Portsmouth.
My appointment as a Senior Lecturer is an exciting new departure from practice into the world of academia. In particular my interests are in developing practice standards, thresholds of intervention, and adults with Learning Disability within statutory child protection interventions.
