Presessional English: Travel and accommodation
Where will I live?
Accommodation can be arranged for you in a University hall of residence in, depending on availability, either a self-contained flat with five single study bedrooms, a shared bathroom and kitchen or a single room (meals are not provided). The bedding and kitchen equipment will be yours to keep. Each bedroom has free, fast broadband and a free internal telephone. You will need a phone card or a free Freewire account to phone outside the University. For more information please go to www.is.port.ac.uk/halls.
Accommodation will be available:
- from Saturday 7 July 2012 for Programme One students
- from Saturday 28 July 2012 for Programme Two students
- from Saturday 11 August 2012 for Programme Three students
Accommodation will be available until 9.00 am on Saturday 8 September 2012
Should you need to arrive earlier than the dates above, accommodation can be arranged at the rate of £20 per night but please give us as much notice as possible.
Travel
Portsmouth is easily accessible by all main forms of travel. Travel instructions and maps are available.
Airport pick-up
A taxi can be arranged to meet you at London Heathrow airport, at no extra cost, if you give us sufficient notice. For details on booking a taxi, please see the Contractual Notes in your Offer Letter.
There will be no refunds if you do not book a taxi through the University.
