The School of Languages and Area Studies has been working with primary and middle school teachers to achieve internationally recognised qualifications in French.

Ten teachers from the Isle of Wight received certificates this month from the University of Portsmouth’s Language Programme, giving them a GCSE-equivalent qualification.  They are the fourth group to qualify under the programme.

Maggi McEwen, the course leader, congratulated the students, adding that "The teachers showed magnificent spirit in maintaining a high attendance at the course with excellent results,  in spite of having worked long days in front of a class."
