School of Languages and Area Studies (SLAS)
EU Students
The School of Languages and Area Studies warmly welcomes and encourages applications from EU students.
Portsmouth is extremely popular with EU students for a number of reasons. It has an excellent academic reputation that is world recognised. It is also safe and friendly; as we already have a large community of EU students there is always plenty of support and help at hand when you need it.
We have a designated International Office, which specialises in helping students right the way through from application to well after their time at the university.
All new EU students are invited to join our special induction and familiarisation programme which is held the week before the start of the term. In addition to receiving general advice about living and studying in Portsmouth, you will meet staff from all the support services and teaching staff from your department. The programme also includes academic, cultural and social events to prepare you for the new year ahead. By the time the term starts you will know your way around the campus and the City. [details]
There are plenty of sporting and social activities which students can get involved in whilst at the University. These are provided by the students union, and also through the international office which arranges a number of specialist events and also trips to see other parts of the UK [details]
If you are interested in finding out more, you can request a copy of our EU prospectus or if you have any questions you can submit them here.

As an EU student you will be eligible for a loan from the British Government to cover your fees (or a portion of them), which will have to be repaid after graduation, once your earnings have reached a certain level. For full details please visit: www.port.ac.uk/tuitionfees
