Profile

Christine Woollin has extensive ELT experience, both in the UK and abroad and worked as a language teacher and language teacher educator in the Middle East, before joining the team of lecturers at University of Portsmouth.  During her career she has worked as an EFL teacher for the British Council, teaching English to adults and young learners in the UAE and Kuwait.  She has also worked in higher education in the UK, teaching both EFL and EAP.  Whilst in the Middle East she worked as an RSA/Cambridge CELTA tutor on courses run by the British Council in various Middle Eastern Countries, and also led teacher development sessions on courses run for the local education authorities in both Abu Dhabi and Kuwait.

As Teaching and Learning Co-ordinator at the University of Portsmouth Language Centre she was responsible for the day to day running of courses, material and course design. She also led seminars on EFL methodology courses run by the Language Centre, and taught on TEFL Refresher and Primary English Language Teaching courses.
