My name is Gerd Knischewski and I am the current Course Leader for German Studies and all Joint Honours degree courses involving German (German & French, German & Spanish and German & Italian).
As Lecturer for German Politics & Society I teach units covering the German political system, German foreign policy and Problems of German Unity.
My current research focuses on German national identity and in particular, how united Germany tries coming to terms with both National Socialism and the experience of GDR Socialism.
