Projects:

  • Coordinator - Creative Writing in a Foreign Language (CWFL) Project.

The Prize for Creative Writing in a Foreign Language is a yearly award given to students for the best submissions written in a language which is not their original mother-tongue. Selected works are published both in print and on a specially designated website: www.port.ac.uk/creativewriting

Awards:  

  • 2004: The CWFL project won the European Award for Languages (EAL Award), a national prize organised by CILT: The National Centre for Languages (http://www.cilt.org.uk/) for its innovation and academic relevance. The award was presented in London by the award patron, Sir Trevor McDonald.
  • 2006: The CWFL project was awarded the University of Portsmouth Learning and Teaching Fund for contributing to the promotion of excellence in the educational and personal experiences of our students.

Future project developments :

  • 2009: The Prize for Creative Writing in a Foreign Language (CWFL) competition is expected to be launched at national level to include works by students from universities across the UK.
