Ann Matear is a Principal Lecturer in Iberian and Latin American Studies. She has a doctorate from the University of Liverpool on the subject of Gender, the State and the politics of Transition in Chile.

Recent Publications
Co-author (with S. Barrientos, A. Bee, I. Vogel) of Working miracles; Women at the cutting edge of Chilean fruit exports, published by Macmillian (1999) and author of a number of articles on gender politics, political identity and democratic transition in Latin America.
