Sports Development

Sports Development students use a range of facilities across the University; from the main lecture theatres for large group teaching, to the smaller seminar rooms where interactive discussion groups or tutorials take place. Practical aspects of the course often take place in the Spinnaker Sports Centre which is attached to the Spinnaker Building, the home of Sport & Exercise Science.

Due to the diverse nature of the course, activities can take place beyond University facilities, with students undertaking placements or site visits in partnership with local schools, sports clubs or leisure facilities.

Fieldwork

Fieldwork can take students beyond Portsmouth, such as site visits to Wembley Stadium and the location for the London Olympics, or organising an event with London Irish RFC at the Madejski Stadium.

Sports Development is an ever changing subject area and the facilities or opportunities incorporated within discipline will inevitably reflect this.
