Personal Tutorial Programme
Upon arrival at the University of Portsmouth students are allocated a personal tutor during induction week and assigned to a small tutorial group. Each personal tutorial group is timetabled to meet with their personal tutor on a regular basis.
The function of the personal tutor is to act in both an academic and pastoral role, guiding students with aspects of the course such as option choices, careers education and academic progress.
During timetabled meetings with the personal tutor, each student will review and work through a structured tutorial package designed to encourage, manage and evaluate individual learning. They offer a focussed opportunity to discuss academic progression, and identify any difficulties or potential obstacles to learning.
