Profile

Background

I am currently a full-time PhD student. I graduated from the University of Tours (France) in June 2009, having completed my MSc and MPhil in physiology and neurosciences respectively. Outside of academia I like to participate in as many outdoor sports as I can, but mainly water-sports and all kinds of mountain sports. I also used to do judo and boxing.

Research Interests

I have always been interested in trying to understand how the body reacts to the environment. My PhD has just started and is focused on investigating the thermal responses to immersion in cool and cold water wearing specialist protective sports clothing. The project will involve examining a range of in-water sports-related immersion protective clothing in the laboratory and open water with a view to establishing the thermal responses of individuals undertaking different sports.
