Profile
Background
I completed my BSc in Sport and Exercise Science at York St JohnUniversity in 2008. After graduating I took time away from University, learnt how to sail and became a commercial yacht skipper. In 2010 I joined the MSc SportsPerformance course at the University of Portsmouth; during this degree, environmental physiology really sparked my interest so I completed my dissertation in this area. In February 2012 I started as a full time PhD student in the department.
Research Interests
I am interested in how the clothing we wear impacts on our ability to control our core body temperature, as this will influence how long and how hard we can exercise. My project will be aiming to quantify the physiological cost of thermoregulating in differing environments wearing different clothing and exercising at different intensities.
