Profile

Carine Germond’s main research and teaching interests lie in the field of Contemporary/Modern History and European Studies. Her core research areas are comparative and transnational history of the 20th century and European (integration) History.

She joined the University of Portsmouth in September 2012 as a Marie Curie Fellow. Her research project focuses on the role and influence of organized farm interests to explore and explain the striking lack of reform of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) prior to 1992. This project is funded by a two-year Intra-European Marie Curie Fellowship (FP7-People-2011).

She is also Assistant Professor in the Department of History at Maastricht University (The Netherlands) where she has been teaching in the BA and MA European Studies Programmes since 2009.
