Profile

Bernie Saunders is Senior Lecturer in Media Law and Journalism. He has been a journalist for more than 30 years and has worked for regional and national publications at home and abroad. He has been involved in the education and training of newspaper, magazine and broadcast journalists for 18 years.

His special areas of interest are media law, news and feature writing and production and the development of specialist training workshops for the continuous professional development of senior journalists.

Bernie is a former director of the National Council for the Training of Journalists, the body which oversees the training of newspaper journalists in the UK. He currently sits on the NCTJ's Law Board which sets and monitors law examinations for journalists.

Bernie's freelance work appears in a range of international, national, regional and local publications and online.
