Steve was 18 when he first bought an old pinball machine (from the 60's). He now has a collection of nearly 50 machines, not only pinballs but other animated games, such as war or space games. He fixed all his machines himself and some of them can be viewed on his website www.decopinball.co.uk Steve received a highly commended prize in the first stage of the Enterprise Challenge 2004, his idea was to use old pinballs in corporate events, or provide specific machines to specialised industries and he also went further, presenting a Business Plan of his idea in Stage 2 and won a Runner-Up prize. He benefited from full support of the Portsmouth Centre for Enterprise by following the Student Enterprise Unit in his first year of his Leisure Resource Management degree. Projects In his niche market, Steve hopes to be easily recognised by the use of only very old machines dating from the 30’s and 40’s, as they are most interesting and valuable. His ambition is to supply local museums, a submarine museum already being interested in renting the Sub Pack Machine to entertain its visitors. Other companies interested are team building companies wishing to offer this form of entertainment during team-building events. |
