Park Building Learning Resource Centre

The Learning Resource Centre exists to provide open access to staff and students in the Faculty to texts, software and computers that can augment learning outwith the classroom. Re-developed in 2009/10 to add new facilities and technologies, the LRC can now offer support in researching and creating presentation and assignment materials using in a richly-featured multimedia workshop.

Facilities

  • Networked PCs and wi-fi working area
  • Video and audio equipment, recording facilities and editing software
  • DVD and CD library (covering multiple languages) and viewing stations
  • Live satellite broadcasts in 8 languages, with off-air recording available.
  • Large collection of reference books, course materials and texts for self-guided learning
  • Scanning facilities, printers and photocopiers

All facilities are overseen by trained staff able to offer help and support in their use.

Using the Centre

Staff and students in the Faculty's four schools are welcome to use the LRC. Some activities should be agreed in advance with Rob Hobbs or Lorraine Randell, as training or preparation may be needed. Please refer to the Usage Protocols for further information regarding this.
