Faculty Manager Role
The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences employs over 90 members of administrative and technical staff who support our students and staff. The Faculty Manager ensures that these staff are well trained and that they are fully equipped to provide a high quality service to our students and staff.
As well as being the line manager for all support staff in the Faculty, this senior role also oversees other professional functions in the Faculty, including Finance, Registry and HR, to meet our operational needs.
In the Faculty of Humanities we are fully engaged in providing the best online services for students and staff but we never forget that it is the personal interactions that we have with one another, in our University community, that are equally important. Our staff take pride in being a friendly face for students and staff and we respond in a timely and professional way to all enquires.
Personal Profile
Fran Weighell began working at the University of Portsmouth in 1985. Her qualifications include a Private Secretary’s Diploma, A Further Education Teacher’s Certificate, a BA (Hons) in Cultural Studies and an MA in Education (Management).
