Profile
Dr David L Ndzi graduated with BSc (Joint Honours) in Electronics and Mathematics from Keele University in 1994 and a PhD in Telecommunications from the University of Portsmouth in 1998. He worked for one year as a Research Associate. He has been a lecturer since 1999 and International Coordinator of the Faculty of Technology since 2007. He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Perlis, Malaysia.
His research focuses on wideband wireless communication, channel characterisation and wideband wireless propagation experimental systems. He has worked for several years on the characterisation of communication transhorizon, line of sight, indoor, outdoor and through vegetation channels. His current research focuses on wireless sensor networks and mesh networks for applications in precision agriculture, environmental monitoring, behavioural economics, security, building control and energy management, etc.

Research
Dr Ndzi's research focuses on;
- Advanced experimental system development for wireless wideband channel studies
- Indoor and outdoor wireless channel measurement and modelling
- Channel fading mitigation for fixed and mobile wireless communication systems
- Wireless sensor networks, ad hoc networks and mesh networks
- Impact of vegetation on radio waves
He has organised and co-organised many conferences at both national and international levels. These include: IADAT International Conference on Telecommunications and Computer Networks, IADAT-tcn2005, IADAT-tcn2006 and UK URSI National Symposium 2007. He has also chaired many sessions at national and international conferences and published more than 50 research papers. He supervises PhD students in different areas.
