Profile

Richard has been able to build a career in a sector that matches both his skills base and personal values wells. He has been able to combine his strengths in numeracy and systems thinking, with strong inter-personal skills (in the area of communication, negotiation and relationship building) and then combine these skills with the ability to view the outcomes in their strategic context. Underpinning his approach are a set of values founded on personal commitment and responsibillity, which recognises that he must serve, inspire and provide opportunities to the individual, the community and the economy.

His academic teaching and research has focused on the contribution that management accounting information systems can play in the context of strategic decision making within organisations but this can only be done effectively if the context is truly understood.
