Profile

Guy Judge BA, MA (Warwick)

I am a Visiting Fellow at the University of Portsmouth Business School.

I have over four decades of experience in teaching at HE level and during that time I have taught on a wide range of courses within economics. In recent years my main focus has been on teaching econometrics, both at introductory and more advanced levels. For more information on the units that I currently teach please visit my teaching web page

For over twenty years I was editor of the journal Computing in Higher Education Economics Review, and for eight years I was Software Reviews Editor for The Economic Journal. I have written two text books which focus on the use of computers in economics, namely Quantitative Analysis for Economics and Business: Using Lotus 1-2-3 (1990) published by Harvester Wheatsheaf and Computing Skills for Economists (2000) published by John Wiley & Sons. I continue to have an interest in the use of technology in supporting student learning and I maintain an econometrics blog.

My research covers a wide range of topics in applied economics and econometrics, but I have a particular interest in the use of Structural Time Series models. For more details of recent work please visit my research web page.

I have supervised PhDs on a variety of applied economics topics.
