Penny Dossor  BA, PGCE, MCIPD, PG Dip, MA

Following a degree in Hotel and Catering Management and a career in the Hotel and Catering industry, Penny's main areas of teaching interest are Management, Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour within the Hospitality Industry.  She has had many years experience in a range of roles as part of the Hospitality Management course team.

In addition to this Penny has worked extensively with international students in the role of International Student Tutor, providing pastoral support and asssisting adaptation and integration into the British education system.  This international focus has been further developed via overseas teaching in China which provided further insight into the needs of international students.  This interest in cultural difference is reflected in academic involvement in Cross Cultural Awareness, and postgraduate teaching on the MA International Human Resource Management, a course studied predominantly by international students.

Penny has been Course Leader for BA (Hons) Business with Business Communication and BA (Hons) Marketing with Business Communication, courses specifically designed for international students.

Her research interests include issues specific to the hospitality industry, (both General Management and HRM perspectives), and cross cultural awareness dimensions with a particular focus on aiding the integration and understanding of international students studying at Portsmouth.
