David Hall BSc (Hons), PGCE, MA, Ph.D, FHEA, FCMI, FInstLM

David's teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level focuses on the strategic management of people and performance, particularly in the areas of Performance Management, Strategic HRM and Leadership.

He is Course Leader for the MSc in Leadership and Management, a Work-Based Learning programme developed for managers who have experience of leadership and management development, and wish to use this to gain an academic qualification.  David is also Programme Director for the Masters programme in Coaching and Development, a Work-Based Learning programme run in conjunction with a coaching consultancy company.

Having worked for several international companies and as a consultant in the private and public sectors, David has management experience of the challenges faced by organisations as they respond to change and seek to improve performance.

David is interested in Work-Based Learning as a means of enabling individuals to learn and develop through experiential learning. Drawing employers, training providers and professional bodies together, 'Work-Based Learning Partnerships' provide exciting learning, development and qualification opportunities with positive outcomes for all stakeholders.

David has written book chapters on Managing Performance and Change, and several articles. He is editor of the HR Bulletin: Research and Practice journal which features articles by academics, managers and students, published by University of Portsmouth and CIPD.
