Cherry Hood
Cherry is a Human Resources professional with experience in public and private sector organisations. She is employed as a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and has been Course Manager for the full-time MSc in Human Resource Management. Cherry has worked in diverse environments and taught groups of learners in the workplace, in Further and in Higher Education, from level 2 to Masters.
Cherry has over eight years’ teaching experience, lecturing in learning & development, applied HRM & HRD, line management skills and HR business context. Before starting an academic career, she served as a commissioned officer in the Royal Navy and in manufacturing companies (fabrication and FMCG), providing HR Business Partner support and HRM/HRD generalist service.
Her research interests include student development through voluntary work and the transfer of learning in the workplace. She spends her spare time messing about in boats, walking the dog and is proud to be an advocate speaker for Hounds for Heroes (a registered charity).
