Profile
Sally Rumbles
Sally is a Senior Lecturer at Portsmouth Business School and is Course Leader for the undergraduate HRM degree programmes as well as the Schools Liaison Coordinator for the Business School.
Sally coordinates and teaches on a range of postgraduate and undergraduate units, including people resourcing, human resource development and equality and diversity management.
My research interests lie in the area of organisational change and the role of the HR professional, working with Gary Rees to explore organisational change and the related issues of employee engagement, resilience and burnout and we have presented papers at two international conferences on this subject. Other research interests lie in the area of equality and diversity management.
Sally's academic career was preceded by 12 years as a human resource professional, in both the public and private sector latterly as a HR manager in a large defence company. Three years as a training manager sparked my interest in teaching and learning and my eventual move into higher education.
