Kajal Sharma PhD (Pursuing), MBA
Prior to joining the University in 2010, I spent six years in academia contributing to teaching, learning and research in various capacities in the UK and abroad (India).
Having interest in healthcare area, I have worked as a Consultant with private hospitals like Apollo and Sterling Group of Hospitals (India) on projects related to areas of enhancing HR practices and systems, organisational culture and stress management. I have also conducted a number of Management Development Programs for executives on the theme of 'executive stress and coping', also helped organizations with 'stress audit' to analyze and understand their role stresses with a view to incorporate relevant development inputs. My continuing interest in aspects of people management has lead to my association with public, private and joint sector organizations abroad.
Research Interests
My research interests lie exploring issues in three areas: Evaluating and Enhancing HR practices and systems, Organisational Culture and stress and coping. My current work in these areas has been published in, amongst others, Journal of Health Management, Indian Journal for Training and Development and Indian Journal of Management. I have presented papers at national and international conferences on these issues as well.
Teaching
I have taught on a variety of courses including units like Organisational Behaviour, Human Resource Management, Managing Business Relationships and Business Research Methods for the BABS, BABA, Marketing and HRM degrees. I have been involved with dissertation supervision at undergraduate and Master's level.
