Professor Colin Wheeler
Colin Wheeler is Professor of Marketing at Portsmouth Business School, Portsmouth, UK.
His research interests include international marketing strategy, export performance and the internationalisation of the small and medium size firm (SME).
He is currently researching the internationalisation of SME's in the advanced medical products sector with Professor Marian Jones of the University of Glasgow and has recently published an edited book on International Entrepreneurship in the Life Sciences with Edward Elgar.
He has published in the British Journal of Management, International Business Review, International Small Business Journal, European Journal of Marketing and the Journal of International Entrepreneurship, amongst others.
He has chaired the Academy of International Business Conference, UK and Ireland and has edited the AIB (UK&I) book series.
He is also a consultant for many SMEs, mainly advising on international market entry strategies and has worked for a number of national and international government agencies advising on internationalisation strategies for firms.
He supervises doctoral students in international marketing and teaches on courses in global marketing management and the internationalisation of the SME.
