Profile

Emma Winter

Emma initially joined Portsmouth Business School as an hourly paid lecturer in February 2001, following several years' experience working in operations and marketing in the financial services industry.  She was appointed senior lecturer in September 2007.  Emma coordinates and teaches on a range of Undergraduate and Postgraduate units, particularly in the areas of services marketing and marketing strategy.

In addition to teaching, Emma has worked extensively with international students in her role as Level 2 International Student Tutor.  This has involved providing pastoral support and designing the tutoring programme to assist with students’ adaptation and integration into the British education system and life at Portsmouth Business School.  Her work with international students has also extended to being appointed as the Business School link tutor with International College Portsmouth.

Most recently, Emma has been appointed as Deputy Course Leader for undergraduate Marketing programmes, a role which means that in conjunction with the rest of the Course Team, she seeks to ensure Marketing students are provided with the best possible student experience.

Emma's research interests relate to Services marketing; specifically the concept of the servicescape and issues related to the provision of higher education as a service.
