Dr Michael Wood, BSc, MSc (Sussex), DPhil (Oxford)
Michael Wood is a principal lecturer at the University of Portsmouth, and a member of the Centre for Enterprise Research and Innovation (CERI). He has an academic background in mathematics, statistics, education and philosophy of science, which means he can bring a broad perspective to business problems.
He has worked on a range of consultancy projects, and run training courses, for a wide range of organisations on a variety of topics. These include statistical process control, and various other areas of statistical, mathematical and computer modelling. He is, however, always careful to ensure that the use of statistical and similar methods is appropriate to the context.
He is an active researcher with over 60 publications in academic books and journals, including the Journal of the Operational Research Society, Organizational Research Methods, Marketing Letters, the Journal of Information Science, the Journal of Statistics Education, and the Higher Education Review.
His teaching and research interests encompass the areas mentioned above, and also research methods and decision analysis using multicriteria and probabilistic methods.
