Brain GameA team of Portsmouth Business School staff and students combined brain power to win ‘The Brain Game’ – a quiz to pit local business brains against each other and raise money for St John Ambulance.

The quiz was held at the Rose Bowl in Southampton and hosted by comedienne and Celebrity Mastermind Champion, Lucy Porter. There were eight teams of 10 competing for the Brain Game trophy and rounds included questions on news, current affairs and entertainment.

Dean of the Portsmouth Business School, Professor Gioia Pescetto, said: “Corporate hospitality events like ‘The Brain Game’ are an ideal way for businesses to gain direct access to a dynamic corporate audience. We were delighted to sponsor the Brain Game and support the work of St John Ambulance and thrilled to win!

“St John Ambulance is a wonderful charity – its volunteers provide first aid training to the general public, young people and in the workplace. They offer first aid at public events, patient transport and they provide back-up ambulance vehicles and crews during emergencies. We have much to be thankful for all these services and more.”

The winning team consisted of staff members Professor Gioia Pescetto, Dr Michele Lundy, David Smith and Jim Rowe, and past and present MBA students Andy German, Rosie Lord-Taylor, Heather Short, Steven Lee, Guy Wells and Sarah Miles.

Michelle Dobson, County Fundraiser for St John Ambulance Hampshire said: “The Brain Game is a fantastic event to see which businesses have the biggest brains in Hampshire. I was delighted with the success of the evening and thankful to all our sponsors and the business community who supported the event and gave so generously.”
