Professor appointed Institute of World Business Law council member

Professor Munir ManiruzzamanA School of Law professor has been re-elected a council member of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Institute of World Business Law – a Paris-based prestigious professional organisation.

Munir Maniruzzaman, Professor of International and Business Law, has been re-elected a council member for another four years at the Institute’s recent annual meeting in Paris.

The ICC Institute of Business Law is a think-tank that provides research, training and information to the legal profession concerned with the development of international business law. Council members are chosen for their competence and expertise and appointed by the Institute Council.

Professor Maniruzzaman said: “I am delighted to have been re-elected a council member of such a prestigious organisation, which strengthens the links between the world of academia and practicing lawyers, and facilitates the exchange of views on important legal issues of international business and settlement of international business disputes.”

The Institute’s Council is made up of 40 eminent lawyers from all over the world. Professor Maniruzzaman has served the ICC Institute as an associate member from 2001 - 2006 and then council member since 2007.

Professor Maniruzzaman has also been listed as a qualified international arbitrator of the Dubai International Arbitration Centre Dubai - the hub of international arbitration in the Middle East.

He is also an Academic Council member of the Institute of Transnational Arbitration, U.S.A., a member of the Institute of Arbitration, Paris, the ILA International Committee on International Commercial Arbitration, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London.
