Adam Mathewson and Paige Jones, students in the School of Law, have been awarded a prestigious essay prize by Clarke Willmott LLP solicitors.
Students were invited to submit an essay on ‘Commercial Awareness for the 21st Century Lawyer’. Commercial awareness has become increasingly important in enabling students to make the transition between study and practice and is highly sought after by employers. Adam and Paige win work experience at Clarke Willmott's Southampton office. Three runners-up were also commended by the firm. Luke Murphy, trainee solicitor at Clarke Willmott and a graduate of the School of Law said, ‘It was a pleasure to facilitate the essay writing competition and I look forward to welcoming the students for their work experience’.
