A man described by the Financial Times as an entrepreneurship guru, has been inspiring local business people and helping the University of Portsmouth to raise over £500 for a local charity.
Robert Craven spoke to an audience of more than 150 entrepreneurs on the 10 top tips for business growth at an event hosted by Portsmouth Business School.
The networking event – ten things to do in the next ten days – was open to all and was free, but people were asked to make a donation to Portsmouth Business School’s local charitable partner, Brendoncare Foundation and together they donated £518.
Robert’s top tips for growth in the face of recession include examining the evidence of what successful businesses do differently, honing your networking skills and realising the actions you need to take.
Robert is the author of five books endorsed by Richard Branson. He regularly speaks on how to kick-start the energy and clear direction necessary for growth in tough economic climates.
Nick Capon, of Portsmouth Business School, said: “We run these free events to encourage the business community to see the Business School as a valuable local resource in new ideas.
“We benefit as much as them, exchanging ideas on what practically makes a difference.”
