Welcome to the Registry SCMS Training Pages
The Registry Student & Course Managment System (SCMS) Training Team offers the following training:
- Assessment Marks Entry and Calculation Training
- Unit Assessment Board Training
- Board of Examiners Training
- Unit Database Training
Training sessions will be offered throughout the year to those new staff starting an administrative role. All training will be undertaken in group sessions, with the Academic Registry Student Records Board training team. Dates for available training sessions are advertised on our Calendar of Events which can be found here.
Bookings need to be requested through the appropriate Student Records Representative. Candidates should check our Calendar of Events and pick a date for the session they would like to attend. The candidate/manager then needs to request the training via their Student Records Representative.
Student Recrods Representatives will need to send all training requests to firstname.lastname@example.org. An email will then be sent to the candidate and their line manager to confirm the date and time for each session. If a candidate has any special requirements associated with their attendance please contact email@example.com as soon as possible, so we can make appropriate arrangements.
The training will encompass the following:
Assessment Marks Entry and Calculation:
- Artefact Results Entry
- Unit Calculation
- Artefact Mark Reports
- Duration: 3 hours
Staff can only attend the Assessment Marks Entry and Calculation Training once they have completed either SR02 or SR03.
Unit Assessment Board (UAB):
- Creating and Managing a Unit Assessment Board
- Unit Results and Running UAB reports
- Post UAB Management
- Duration: Half Day
Board of Examiners (BOE):
- Board of Examiners, Creation, Calculation and Reports
- Post Board of Examiners Management
- Duration: Full Day
Please note that due to the incremental nature of the training, a strict pre-requisite structure is in place. Therefore the Assessmnet Marks Entry and Calculation training must be completed prior to any Board Training taking place. The UAB session must be completed prior to the BOE session.
- Creating a new unit using the University's Unit Database
- Updating an existing unit
- Unit Web Search and Reports
- Duration: 3 hours
