Welcome to the Quality Management Division

The Quality Management Division of Academic Registry provides central support and development in relation to the University's quality assurance framework.

Key areas of expertise and responsibility are:

  • Academic Committees
  • Annual programme monitoring and periodic programme review
  • Articulation Arrangements and Memoranda activity
  • Assessment Regulations
  • Audits and reviews
  • Collaborative Partnerships
  • Course Approval, modifications and closures
  • External Examining arrangements
  • Quality Assurance arrangements
  • Student Appeals and disciplinary events
  • Research Students
  • Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies
  • Parchments and transcripts

In supporting the above activities, QMD will:

  • provide professional expert advice and information to University colleagues, external bodies and partner organisations in relation to quality assurance matters
  • develop and maintain the corresponding policies, procedures and guidance
  • work closely with University committees
  • assist with the understanding of and monitor the implementation of the University's quality assurance system
  • provide support and staff development in key quality assurance areas
  • act as a central contact for external quality assurance activities and bodies       

 

The University of Portsmouth had a successful Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) Higher Education Review (HER) in March 2015. You can view the full report from the QAA here.
