The Quality Management Division of Academic Registry provides central support and development in relation to the University's quality assurance framework.
Key areas of expertise and responsibility are:
- Academic Committees
- Annual programme monitoring and periodic programme review
- Articulation Arrangements and Memoranda activity
- Assessment Regulations
- Audits and reviews
- Collaborative Programmes
- Course Approval, modifications and closures
- External Examining arrangements
- Quality Assurance arrangements
- Student Appeals and disciplinary events
- Research Students
- Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies Register
- Parchments and transcripts
In supporting the above activities, QMD will:
- Provide professional expert advice and information to University colleagues, external bodies and partner organisations in relation to quality assurance matters
- develop and maintain the corresponding policies, procedures and guidance
- work closely with Academic Policy and Quality Group (APQG), Quality Assurance Committee (QAC), University Research Degrees Committee (URDC) and Academic Policy Committee (APC)
- assist with the understanding of and monitor the implementation of the University's quality assurance system
- provide support and staff development in key quality assurance areas
- act as a central contact for external quality assurance activities and bodies
