Students studying at a Partner Institution



As a student studying a University of Portsmouth programme through one of our Collaborative Partners, in the UK or Overseas, we welcome you to the University of Portsmouth.

The University of Portsmouth has a strong tradition of successfully delivering collaborative programmes and supporting students through collaborative partner institutions across the world. The University currently has over 20 collaborative partner institutions with more than 2500 students studying on these programmes.

What is a collaborative programme?

At the University of Portsmouth, we define a full collaborative programme as a programme of study which is delivered and/or supported by a partner institution which leads to a University of Portsmouth award. This means that upon successful completion of your studies you will be awarded a University of Portsmouth degree. A list of programmes and partner institutions can be found here

Library access

All collaborative students are entitled to access the online Library services, which you will need to apply for after registration. The Library can be used to source a wide range of information to support your studies, including electronic books and journals, databases and websites. You will be sent details of how to apply upon registration.


Unless otherwise stated, students studying on a collaborative programme may attend the University of Portsmouth graduation ceremony, which is usually held in July each year, and is applicable to eligible awards only.

Some UK and overseas partners hold their own graduation ceremonies; however you may also attend the University of Portsmouth graduation ceremony. Please refer to your partner institution for further details. Alternatively, contact the University Graduation Office


The Collaborative Programmes Office produces, distributes and verifies all award parchments for students who are registered on a collaborative programme studied through a partner institution.

Award Parchments

All parchments are issued by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery UK and Royal Mail International Recorded Delivery overseas to the partner institution for onward distribution to you. If you have not received your parchment within two months of your exam board taking place please contact the partner institution with whom you studied with in the first instance.

Replacement Parchments

Replacements for award parchments conferred by the University of Portsmouth, or from the former Portsmouth Polytechnic (CNAA) are obtainable from the University should your original become lost or damaged.

The cost is £35 for one parchment and £10 for each further parchment of the same award ordered at the same time to a maximum of five.  This charge is inclusive of VAT and postage and packing by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery UK and Royal Mail International Recorded Delivery overseas.

Awards are printed on watermarked parchment paper with the University crest and appropriate signatures. To request a replacement parchment please complete the Replacement and Verification of Award form. Once completed you will be emailed details on how you can pay.

Persons other than the award holder who apply for a replacement award parchment will require the written permission of the award holder to do so.

Replacement Transcripts should be applied for directly from your department of study.

Verification of Awards

Proof of an award can be provided in the form of a Letter of Verification and issued without charge. To request a Letter of Verification please complete the Replacement and Verification of Award form.

Persons other than the award holder who apply for a verification of award will require the written permission of the award holder to do so.

Certified copies of original award parchments

If you require a stamped and certified copy of your award parchment you need to send a scanned copy of your original parchment to with an address for issue by post. There is currently no charge for this service. Alternatively you can send a photocopy to the Collaborative Programmes Office, Academic Registry, University House, Winston Churchill Avenue, Portsmouth PO1 2UP with a covering letter.
