The Legacy of London 2012
Wed, 17 Oct 2012 10:06:00 BST
Alumnus Sir John Armitt spoke to an audience of nearly 200 earlier this month about his role as Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Authority managing a budget of eight billion pounds and overseeing the transformation of 600 acres of London ground.
He said: “The Olympic Delivery Authority built the theatre, Seb Coe put on the show and Colin Moynihan and the British Olympic Association provided the British team of athletes. Sydney was considered to be the best Games ever but London is now undoubtedly the best Games ever.”
Sir John talked about what happens to an 80,000 seat Olympic Stadium, a basketball stadium, hockey stadium, aquatic centre and velodrome after the Games.
