During this academic year, we will be developing support programmes for staff with limited teaching and learning support responsibilities. We currently offer a programme for postgraduate research students.
Graduate Students Professional Development (GPROF)
The GPROF programme is mandatory for postgraduate students who are involved in any teaching activity and work as demonstrators and tutors. Postgraduate students are permitted to teach, after they have attended the GPROF induction session and completed their action plans, and as long as they are either engaged in or have completed the programme.
Delivery of the programme
GPROF provides graduates who teach with a flexible programme to meet disciplinary and role-based needs. The programme has two intakes a year - October and February. It should take a maximum of 6 months and participants who complete it successfully are awarded a certificate.
Attending the programme
Post graduate students who wish to participate in the GPROF programme should complete the application form and ask their department to sign the document, indicating their consent. The application form is available on the 'Programme' section of the GPROF web pages. Please send the application form no later than 25th January 2013 to acdev@port.ac.uk.
