Supporting students

nuffield centre DCQE supports students through our student support services, the PrepUP website and through providing information, advice, guidance and resources for staff.

Student Support Services:

  • Academic Skills Unit (ASK) provides a wealth of resources, workshops and tutorials for students to promote their development of the academic skills and literacies. They also provide advice and guidance to staff regarding the inclusion and teaching of academic skills within the curriculum.
  • Additional Support and Disability Advice Centre (ASDAC) provides advice, guidance and support to students with a range of disabilities. They also provide information and guidance to staff on a wide range of topics.
  • The Counselling Service offers a wide range of help and support to students who may have worries or problems while they are at the University.

PrepUP
The PrepUP website is designed to ease students' transition into university life.

Personal Tutoring
We support Personal Tutors by providing workshops, consultancy and the online Personal Tutoring web pages.

Providing advice on and evaluating induction
We provide advice on induction and carry out occasional surveys on students' experience of induction.

Providing ePortfolio advice, guidance and support
Our Technology Enhanced Learning team maintain and develop the University's ePortfolio. They will also support and advise staff and students in its use.
