Care Leavers

The University of Portsmouth has historically supported Care Leavers prior to the application process and once they are attending university. This support has now been recognised by the university receiving the Buttle UK Quality Mark.

The Education Liaison and Outreach team works to ensure that all aspiration raising activities are accessible for those in care through its relationship with schools, colleges and local authorities.

The team currently work with a large number of schools and colleges in the Portsmouth area and beyond. As a team we continue to ensure that we are helping all potential students from a care background to make informed and considered decisions about subject choice and progression routes into further and higher education.

We always welcome people onto the campus and are happy to organise tours and individual visits to the University. If you are someone who is leaving care or a carer / support worker for people leaving care please contact us.
