Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Activities
Throughout the year we run subject specific events in all STEM areas. Most events will be invitation only. However, if you are interested in being involved do let us know.
Fun Maths – A range of puzzles and activities for years 7-11 developing logic and problem solving skills in a fun and interactive way.
Length – 1 hour sessions within school
Minimum number 60 / maximum number 100 pupils per session – contact us to book
Think Bigger – Working with cosmologists at the University, pupils will learn more about space, stars and the universe as well as building their very own solar system!
Length – Half day at University, Wednesday 3rd July
Maximum number 40 pupils – invitation only
Think Smaller – Visiting our science department and working with academics, pupils will use specialist equipment to capture images through microscopes and learn about environmental forensics and cell imaging
Length – Full day at University, Date TBC
Maximum number 40 pupils – invitation only
STEM for Girls –This event aims to encourage girls in Year 9 to study STEM subjects at University and beyond. The event will consist of a rotation of up to three activities all run by academics from the University.
Length – Half day at University, Wednesday 12th June
Maximum number 40 pupils – invitation only
Maths Taster Day – Working with current undergraduate students, Year 9 pupils will engage in interactive Maths activities aimed at raising aspirations.
Length – 10am -2pm, Date for 2013/14 TBC Maximum 50 pupils – invitation only
