Equality and Diversity

Equality and Diversity training

A wide variety of equality and diversity legislation exists, affecting people in all areas of the University in numerous ways. Understanding exactly how this legislation affects you not only keeps you on the right side of the law, but should lead to a better working environment for everyone.

To this end, the Equality and Diversity Unit run a number of sessions to inform staff on good practice and the impact of legislation. The unit also trains staff to undertake equal opportunities roles such as harassment advisers and Equality Impact Assessment (EIA) panel members.

Equality and Diversity is also included within the staff induction events that all new staff attend. Content covered at this briefing can be found here.

To see a list of scheduled formal training programmes please visit the staff development pages or access the University's eLearning resource for online equality and diversity training.

The Equality and Diversity Adviser also runs tailored sessions on various equality issues, which can range from one hour to a whole day. To arrange one of these for your department, or if you have any query related to equality and diversity, please contact the Equality and Diversity Adviser, Dave Small.
