Staff forums
As part of the University's commitment to equal opportunities, the Equality and Diversity Unit has created a number of staff forums. These exist to allow staff from similar backgrounds to meet, network and discuss the issues that matter to them.
They also allow for the exchange of views, mutual support and advice as well as giving a platform from which to express concerns, raise awareness and instigate positive change within the University.
A representative of the staff forums (elected by and from forum members) sits on the University's Equality and Diversity Committee and each of the forums is periodically invited to present information on their work and views to this committee.

You can also join electronic forums allowing for the exchange of views between forum members outside of the formal meetings. Two of these currently exist (one for disabled staff and one for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender staff) and you can register to join these using the following links:
