If you Park Illegally
Illegally Parked Vehicles on University
Vehicles found to be illegally parked on University property, e.g.:
- On double yellow lines
- On yellow cross-hatching
- Where 'NO PARKING' signs are displayed
- Causing an obstruction (especially fire/disabled exits)
- Parked in any area which is not marked as a parking space
- Parked in spaces that your permit does not authorise you to use
- Not displaying an appropriate University car parking permit
- Parked in Disabled bays, Faculty Green Bays
- Overstay in 20 min or unload/loading bays
Are liable to be clamped. The fines for release of the wheel clamp are currently:
- First offence £25.00
- Second offence £50.00
After which permits will be withdrawn and disciplinary action taken against perpetual offenders.
Please note: Due to change in Government legislation the University will no longer be permitted to issue clamps from 1 October. Due to these changes in law we will be introducing a Parking Charge Notice system (PCN) and our enforcement will be managed by an external company.
Warning Notices
Prior to any vehicle being clamped, the current policy is to issue ONE warning notice against the vehicle.
All warning notices issued are recorded on a central database held at the Mobility Section, Campus Environment. Please be aware that once a warning notice is recorded, it will remain on the data base for THREE YEARS, AGAINST THE INDIVIDUAL, NOT THE VEHICLE.
